Less than 3 hours on a plane, it’s the ideal choice for that family holiday, with attractions like zoomarina where the sea lions happily perform their crazy antics to the breathtaking elegance of the dolphins shooting high out of the water, showing off to the crowd or maybe for the more adventuras the fun of splashing around the wavepool int the waterpark would be more appealing. For that romantic weekend break visit the Moorish arches of the old town in Albufeira or relaxing on fishermans beach. For the young at heart the Strip has to be top of your list with a huge choice of restaurants, a long street of lively bars and shops open ‘til late into the evening. You can see why this area lives up to its reputation.
Eating Out
Be prepared to wait for your food when eating out here, as usually only the freshest of ingredients are used to prepare the dish of your choice. Whilst you wait however you will on most occaisions be offered bread, olives and some other forms of appetisers. Children are made most welcome anywhere you eat in Portugal, they love children, most menues will offer half portions to cater for their smaller appetites. There are fish restaurants galore for the sea-food lovers amongst us, but don't go home without trying the region's speciality "chicken piri piri" combine this spicy chicken dish with a glass or two of the local wine, what a way to end a perfect day.
Places of Interest
Golf is one of the main attractions for many visitors to the Algarve and offers a course to suite anyone whatever the standard. If you fancy something a littel more adventuras then there is always the off road safari where you get a chance to see some of the stunning, harder to get to parts of the island. Dolphin Safari is one for all the family watch these agile creatures perform amazing tricks, splashing around in their natural environment truely breathtaking.
